Q. Can I clean up my supplies with acetone?Answer
A. No acetone does not break the product down. Use Xylene or disposable tools.


Q. Do I really need to measure out Resin-X by weight?Answer
A. Yes, this is the only way to ensure you get all the right properties of the resin.


Q. Does the Resin-X mix ratio change with the fast, slow, and extra slow?Answer
A. Yes, refer to the appropriate mixing chart. (add link to mixing charts)


Q. How long do I have to mix Resin-X?Answer
A. Until the mix is no longer cloudy and turns clear. Mixing a quart by hand normally takes 30-45 seconds. Go by sight depending on your mixing tools and quantities. The product should go from cloudy to clear.


Q. Can I over mix Resin-X?Answer
A. Yes, you do not want to mix Resin-X as long as you would mix an epoxy. This can cause a shorter Pot life.


Q. Does Resin-X want to go off faster in mass form?Answer
A. No, Resin-X maintains a longer working time if left in mass form.


Q. Does Resin-X have the same exotherm as an epoxy?Answer
A. No, Resin-X has a much lower exotherm than epoxy.


Q. Since Resin-X is a moisture cure does it go off faster in humid climates?Answer
A. Yes


Q. How can you manage it going off faster in humid climates?Answer
A. Xylene.


Q. Can Resin-X be thinned or can I lower the viscosity? Answer
A. Yes, by either using a microwave to heat part A or with Xylene. Normally you should heat the Part A 20-50 seconds in the microwave depending on quantity and room temperature.


Q. Can I post cure Resin-X?Answer
A. Yes, wait until it tacks off and firms up. Normally 30 minutes for Fast Resin-X and 1-2 hours for Slow Resin-X. Post cure 110-120 degrees for 4-5 hours.


Q. Which part should I add tint to? Answer
A. Stay away from tints with high levels of glycol and water, as they will speed up pot life dramatically



H20/UV Clear

Q.What is the best brush to use for H20/UV clear?Answer
A. Purdy Syntox is what we recommend.


Q.I am getting small pits in my clear coat when I spray H20/UV clear. Answer
A. Back off your air pressure.


Q.What is the optimum spray pressure?Answer
A. That varies on equipment but normally 38#-42#


Q.What do you do if you if its left in the gun for over an hour? Answer
A. It still normally comes out, but you might put some laquer thinner in your gun if it becomes clogged.


Q. How many coats should I put on?Answer
A. Three, normally two back to back with a light sand between 320-420 grit. Finish with a nice even coat.


Q. How long should I wait before putting product in water?Answer
A. Three days at 70 degrees and 50% humidity.
